I have noticed an oil leak on the compressor side

If the level of the engine oil reduces, we should suspect a loss of the turbocharger oil. More common is the problem on the compressor side, which can be detected by the oil stains in the casing, oil supply system or delivery pipe.

Possible causes of the problem:

  • blockage or leakage in the oil inlet/outlet of turbocharger
  • clogged oil vapor vent
  • dirty compressed air cooler (intercooler)
  • wear of the turbocharger bearing
  • resistance (blockage)in the delivery pipe, behind the compressor
